RT Analyzer is an app for cumulative musical intonation analysis, available for iOS and Android. Instead of judging only the note being played at this instant, it continuously gathers results note by note and builds a view of the instrument across its full working range.
It is designed for wind, string and piano instruments, with a dedicated detection strategy for each family. Musicians can use it to review practice, while makers and technicians can use the accumulated picture to support voicing, setup and tuning decisions.
A whole-instrument view
Each detected pitch contributes to the running statistics for its note and octave. The main grid shows the average deviation in cents, with consistent green, yellow and red grading for quick review. Display three, four or five octaves at once, or move continuously through the selected range. Piano mode covers all 88 keys from A0 to C8.
Built for different instruments
- Wind instruments use a fine RT mode that combines MPM pitch detection with spectrum refinement.
- String instruments use immediate MPM detection with statistics centred around vibrato.
- Piano uses a short-window estimate to identify the key and a longer-window fit for the fundamental and inharmonic partials.
Inspect a note in detail
Double-tap or press and hold a note to pause the main accumulation and focus on that pitch. The detail screen shows H1 through H4 with frequency, dBFS strength and cents deviation, together with recent spectrum statistics. This helps distinguish the fundamental from its harmonic structure.
Flexible tuning references
Set the A4 reference, key and detection range, and compare results under equal temperament or alternative tuning references. Adjustable good/acceptable thresholds make the colour grading suitable for different tasks and levels of precision.
Keep and share useful results
Measurement histories can be saved, renamed and reviewed later. A complete-range image or CSV can be generated when the user chooses to share a session. The iOS app supports iPhone and iPad; see the App Store for current compatibility requirements. An Android APK is also available above. The app includes English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese interfaces.
Private audio processing
Microphone audio is analysed only in device memory. RT Analyzer does not record or upload the original audio, requires no account, and includes no analytics or advertising SDK. Local history contains accumulated measurement statistics rather than recordings. See the Apps Privacy Policy for details.
